Walking and Talking 2016
The walking group is a good opportunity for those who like walking to also meet other members of the St Mary’s community as we definitely like talking!
The walks are mostly 5-6 miles starting at 10am, taking about 2 hours. We usually carry a flask for a coffee break and have a drink at a pub at the end for those who want.
You will need to wear walking boots, bring a drink and a snack and wet weather gear or even, maybe, suncream and a hat!
One or two of us are willing to reconnoiter and lead walks but would welcome suggestions or for other people to take us on their favourite walks. Most walks are the 3rd Saturday in each month.
21st May: 10am leader Richard Lamb 6.25 miles
Start: car park on the Wolverton to Haversham road, close to the Ouse Valley Way. Grid reference is SP817422; there is no charge and no facilities. Nearest toilets are at Tesco's Wolverton store.
Route: West along the Ouse Valley Way, Iron Trunk path to Cosgrove, canal towpath south to Bradwell, redway and Ouse Valley Way back to the start. One stile. The way is almost flat and over hard surfaces except for about a mile of field path, which itself is broad and well-defined.
Refreshments: The Galleon at Wolverton, which has a good range of hot drinks as well as the usual offerings.
