The donated presents are collected from various storage places. They are sorted onto tables using the following categories – ‘Baby’, ‘Girls’, ‘Boys’, ‘Ladies’ and ‘Men’

While this is done family boxes are made up and numbered with the family ID number.

Family ID numbers are used to preserve the anonymity of the recipients.

A family list giving details of age, sex and forename is collected from the control point by an individual volunteer or team.

Using this information, a present is collected for each member of the family.

The presents are then wrapped and labelled with the recipient’s forename.

Each individual's present is listed on the family details sheet to prevent future repetition of presents as the process is later repeated.

The presents are then taken to the family present box and the card is returned to the control point where another family’s card is collected.

This continues until every family has one present. The whole process is the repeated, (usually 4 or 5 times), until all presents are used.

The boxes are then sealed ready to be added to the food hampers.
