 St Mary's: Working with schools


We aim to serve schools at least six times every term


In schools:

20 minutes assembly every half term
    Dates booked up to a year a head

45 minutes small group sessions

    Interactive sessions for 8-10 children

45 minutes of singing together - Christian action songs

   Classes or year groups in the hall with projector for words

90 minutes class room sessions

  Interactive sessions looking at stories from the Bible



At St Mary’s Church:

Reception (aged 4/5) celebration visits and talks

Year 1 (aged 5/6) treasure trail and celebrations (teacher lead)

Year 2 (aged 6/7) church tour with stain glass windows explained

Year 3 (aged 7/8) team challenge and worship

Year 4 (aged 8/9) history tour of St Mary’s         

Easter Service, Harvest Service and Christmas Carol Services


St Mary’s Church also offers, through a national charity TLG (Transforming Lives for Good),
a mentoring coach scheme, working one hour a week, one-to-one, for a year, with a precious child.

St Mary's Parenting Course

During the parent talk course, we look at key issues such as:

  • Communicating with our children
  • Setting boundaries
  • Helping them grow in independence while keeping them safe
  • And, above all, building strong bonds with them that will help us weather those teenage storms.

This exciting and informative 6 week course by Care for the Family,'Parentalk' , is aimed at

those with children aged from birth (get in early!) to 12, though has some very good

concepts that can be applied to the teenage years too. Informal and part DVD led, come and

let's all learn and grow together. 


The aim of this course is to have you leaving inspired and empowered as a mum or dad.

Our popular Holiday Club returns for 2016 and this time we're going to the jungle!

We will go exploring through stories in the Bible as well as the deep, dark jungle.

We will meet crazy characters and the Watt Family will return!
